P.K. Page Rocked!!

January 28, 2011 – P. K. Page Tribute and Malahat Review Winter Issue Launch

Planet Earth Poetry and The Malahat Review join to pay tribute to P.K. Page

The Open Mike will consist of original poems inspired by P.K. Page’s poetry. Then The Malahat Review will launch their winter issue and join us in paying tribute to P.K. Page who died last January. Poets Linda Rogers, Barbara Colbrook Peace, Patricia Young, Terrence Young, Patrick Lane, Lorna Crozier, Kate Brade, Jay Ruzesky and Patrick Friesen are some of the readers who will read P.K.’s poems. Eve Joseph will also read her award winning literary non-fiction piece.

Exciting January Readings at Planet Earth Poetry!

January 14, 2011 - Leaf Press Chap Book Launch

Collections from retreats with Master Poet Patrick Lane will be launched on this night. Readings by Sue Gee, Dvora Levin, Wendy Donawa, David Fraser, Barbara Pelman, Wendy Morton and more. The Chap books will be for sale.


January 21, 2011 - David Zieroth

David Zieroth’s most recent book of poetry, The Fly in Autumn (Harbour 2009), won the Governor General’s Literary Award. He has also published The Village of Sliding Time (Harbour 2006) and Crows Do Not Have Retirement (Harbour 2001), poems, and a memoir, The Education of Mr. Whippoorwill: A Country Boyhood (Macfarlane Walter & Ross 2002). He won the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize for How I Joined Humanity at Last (Harbour 1998). A chapbook, Berlin Album (Rubicon Press), was also released in 2009. He taught at Douglas College in New Westminster , BC , before retiring and founding The Alfred Gustav Press, a micro press for publishing poetry. He lives in North Vancouver , BC .
