KAREN HOFFMAN is an Assistant Professor of English at Thompson Rivers University. Her first collection of poetry, Water Strider, was published by Frontenac House, and shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay prize. She was a winner in the Arc Poetry Magazine Poem of the Year contest. Her reading is funded by the League of Canadian Poets.

ARLENE PARE is a recent graduate of the Uvic Creative Writing Program. Her first book of poetry, Paper Trail, was nominated for the 2008 Dorothy Livesay Poetry Award and won the 2008 Victoria Butler Book Prize.

BARBARA PELMAN retired from high school teaching in 2008, and now teaches at the University of Victoria, runs poetry workshops, dances, daydreams and wonders about her new life. She has two books of poetry, her latest is Borrowed Rooms from Ronsdale. It is also her birthday.
ROGER BELL is the author is six books of poetry, the latest of which is You Tell Me from Black Moss Press. It is a series of narrative poems based on stories told to him in coffee shops, over dinner tables and in hockey dressing rooms. He has been part of Random Acts of Poetry for three years; which he performs on the back of his Honda Shadow ACE motorcycle. He lives near Georgian Bay in Ontario. His reading is funded by the League of Canadian Poets.

JAN CONN was brought up in Asbestos, Quebec. She now lives in Great Barrington, Massachusetts and works as a professor of Biomedical Sciences whose research focuses on mosquitoes, their evolution and ecology. She is the author of six previous books of poetry. Bolero's Beautiful Horses is her 7th poetry collection.
PAMELA PORTER has published 5 books in 5 years, after 29 years of trying. Her novel in verse, The Crazy Man, won the Governor General's Award, the TD Canadian Children's Literature Award, the Geoffrey Bilson Historical Fiction Award, as well as, awards in the US. She has just completed a new novel in poems, Suffer the Children. When she speaks to groups of all ages; she tells everyone who will listen to never give up on their dreams.

LOUISE HALFE, former Poet Laureate of Saskatchewan, whose Cree name is Sky Dancer, has three books of poetry. Her latest, The Crooked Good, won the Saskatoon Book Prize. Her other books have been nominated for the Governor General's award for Poetry and the Pat Lowther Prize. Her reading is funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.
