Planet Earth Poetry's Joyful January Program

JANUARY 11, 2008 MARTIN HAZELBOWER AND SINA QUEYRAS

Martin Hazelboweer, UVic Creative writing grad , winner of Victoria's CBC Poetry Face off of 2007, science fiction poet, reads candidly about zombies. Spellbinds.

Sina Queyras grew up in her mom's forest green Chrysler, chasing her father from one construction job to the next. She was a professor at Rutgers and is now at the University of Calgary. Her latest book, Lemon Hound, is from Coach House Press.

JANUARY 17, 2008 JANET ROGERS AND OANA AVASILICHIOAEI


Janet Rogers, a Mohawk writer from the 6 Nations Territory and performance poet, reads from her first book of poetry from Ekstasis Editions, Splitting the Heart.

Oana Avasilichioaei is a Montreal poet and translator. Her first book of poetry, Abandon, is from Wolsak & Wynn. She has also translated the poems of Romanian poet, Nichita Stanescu.
